The tasks, duties and powers of the Council shall be as follows:
(a) Conducting social welfare work effectively, assisting social organizations, coordinating among them and monitoring, supervising and evaluating their work.
(B) Providing necessary assistance for the establishment, development, expansion and strengthening of social association organizations.
(c) To act as a coordinator between the Government of Nepal and social organizations.
(d) To give necessary advice to the Government of Nepal in relation to social welfare work and social service related policy making and program formulation.
(e) To establish and operate a fund for social welfare work.
(f) To act as an information and record center for the associations affiliated with the council involved in social service.
(g) Providing training, studying, researching, and providing training on matters related to social welfare work.
(h) Conduct physical inspection of the social association organizations affiliated with the council.
(i) To carry out other actions necessary for the implementation of the purpose of this Act.
(J) Making necessary contracts or agreements with domestic, foreign or international organizations and foreign countries.
(k) Collecting support from the national and international sectors and managing the received support amount.
