(1) If it is necessary to change the name of the vessel when it was registered for the first time, the owner of the vessel should apply to the office, clearly stating the reason for such change, along with a ten rupees receipt.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), if the vessel sought to be changed in name is in hostage or has any encumbrance or restriction, the approval of the creditor or other related person who has taken such hostage must be submitted along with such application.
(3) If the registrar finds it necessary to change the name upon examination of the application made as per sub-rule (1), he shall approve the same in the registration book and in the certificate.
