Section 29
Arrangements for rehabilitation
(1) The Government of Nepal shall rehabilitate persons who are totally disabled, severely disabled, helpless or intellectually disabled and mentally or psychosocially disabled. Explanation: For the purposes of this section, "rehabilitation" means medical services, life skills and vocational training, assistive materials, drug treatment, regular counseling services, educational and economic programs provided to enable a disabled person to lead an active life in society and the term It also refers to the housing program conducted for people with disabilities.
(2) The Government of Nepal may establish rehabilitation centers as needed for the purpose of providing suitable housing for disabled persons and rehabilitating them in the society by empowering them.
(3) An organization may establish and operate a rehabilitation center for the purpose of sub-section (1) after taking approval as prescribed.
(4) The Government of Nepal may provide financial and other support to the rehabilitation center as prescribed.
(5) Physical and other infrastructure, management and operational standards and monitoring arrangements to be in the rehabilitation center shall be as prescribed.
