: (1) Section 23B. Except in the case of renewal according to Section 7, the right of the patent holder shall be maintained only for seven years from the date of registration.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), in the case of the period of a patent registered before the commencement of this section, the period shall be maintained in accordance with the provisions in force at the time of registration of that patent. Section 23b after that period is paid. Renewal should be done accordingly.
