Rule 11
Duration and Renewal of Certificate
(1) The period of the certificate issued according to rule 9 or 10 shall be valid for three financial years. But the temporary press representative's certificate will be valid only for the period for which it is given.
(2) In accordance with sub-rule (1), an application must be submitted to the Director General in the format as per schedule-14 for renewing the certificate within 35 days from the date of expiry of the certificate validity period along with a fee of fifty rupees.
(3) If a person applies for renewal of the certificate after the expiry of the period as per sub-rule (2), the Director General may renew the certificate by charging the additional fee as per sub-rule (2) :
(a) For up to three months beyond the deadline as per sub-rule (2) – Rs. 50.–
(b) For the end of June after expiry of clause (a) – Rs. 150.-
(4) If the certificate is not renewed within the deadline according to sub-rule (3), such certificate will automatically be revoked.
(5) According to this rule, the certificate taken by a foreign citizen shall not be renewed more than twice.
