: To develop the agricultural sector which is the backbone of the country and to raise the social and economic level of the rural population by modernizing the agriculture, by studying, teaching and researching the subjects related to agriculture, forestry and animal science in an integrated manner, to produce high-level academic and skilled manpower within the country. Since it is desirable to make the necessary provisions regarding the establishment and operation of the University of Agriculture and Forestry with the investment of the Government of Nepal, the Constituent Assembly has made this Act in accordance with clause (1) of Article 83 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2063.
