: It is desirable to amend and unify existing laws related to disaster risk reduction and management in order to protect the livelihood of the general public and public, private and personal property, natural and cultural heritage and physical structures from natural and unnatural disasters by managing all activities of disaster management in a coordinated and effective manner. Since, the Legislature-Parliament as per clause (1) of Article 296 of the Constitution of Nepal has made this Act.
