- In memory of late leader Vishweshwar Prasad Koirala and to gradually make Nepal self-reliant in the field of health, to provide high-quality health services to the common people, to prepare the necessary manpower to promote high-level health-related studies and research, VP of national importance. Since it is desirable to make a legal arrangement for the establishment and operation of Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Parliament has made this Act in the twenty-first year of the reign of Shri 5th Maharajadhiraj Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev.
