- To preserve the eternal memory of the late Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala, prepare the necessary manpower for high-level study and research related to cancer and make this area self-sufficient by providing the high-level health services necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of people suffering from cancer to enable them to lead a humane life. Since it is desirable to establish and operate a cancer hospital, Parliament has made this Act in the twenty-fifth year of the reign of Shri 5th Maharajadhiraj Birendra Bir Bikram Shahdev.
