Since it is desirable to amend and unify the laws of Nepal related to prisons to maintain peace and order, this Act has been enacted by Shri 5th Maharaj Adhiraj Mahendra Bir Bikram Shahdev in accordance with Article 93 of the Constitution of Nepal.
