(1) There will be an academic council to work as a body to manage the educational, academic and research work of the institution.
(2) The composition of the academic council as per sub-section (1) shall be as follows:
(a) Principal – Chairman
(b) Representative, (at least Gazetted First Class) Ministry of Health and Population – Member
(c)       Representative, (at least Gazetted First Class) Ministry of Education, Science and Technology – Member
(d) Three members nominated by the Assembly from among the teachers of the institution (e) Three members nominated by the Assembly on the recommendation of the Academic Council from among the program coordinators of various subjects run by the institution. (f) Two members nominated by the academic council to be represented from among the educational institutions conducting post-graduate programs in the field of medical science. (g) Head of Nursing Campus – Member
(h) Dean – Member – Secretary
(3) The term of office of the nominated members according to sub-section (2) will be three years.
(4) The procedure for the meeting of the Academic Council shall be as prescribed.
