1.1 Abbreviation and Initial: 1.1.1. The name of this Act is "Ayurvedic Medical Council Act 2045". 1.2.3 This Act shall come into effect from the date specified by the Government of Nepal by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette. 1.2 Definitions: 1. Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 6.2 of this Act , 7.1, 7.2, 9.3 and 9.3a. Except that the notification has been published in the Nepal Gazette starting from the date 2056.8.16. 2. Sections 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 6.2 of this Act , 7.1, 7.2, 9.3 and 9.3a. A notification has been published in the Nepal Gazette starting from February 16, Samvat 2058. 1.2.1 In this Act, unless the subject or context requires otherwise, - 1.2.1.1 "Council" shall mean the Ayurveda Medical Council established as per section 2.1. 1.2.1.2 "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council. 1.2.1.3 "Member" shall mean a member of the Council and shall include the Chairman. 1.2.1.4 "Registrar" means the Registrar of the Council appointed as per clause 3.1. 1.2.1.5 "Registration book" means the registration book established to register the names of medical practitioners under this Act. 1.2.1.6 "Physician" means a person engaged in the profession of Ayurveda science who has obtained the minimum qualifications mentioned in section 4.2. 1.2.1.7 "Registered physician" means a physician whose name is registered in the register as per section 4.5. 1.2.1.8 "Ayurvedic medicine" means medicine prepared from the Ayurvedic system. 1.2.1.9 "Rules" means the rules made under this Act. 1.2.1.10 "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means as prescribed or prescribed in the rules or regulations made under this Act.
