Section 187

When a judge examines a witness in the court, he shall ask a question about the subject to be disclosed by him in the case, and record such question, the answer given by the witness and, if there is cross-examination in accordance with the law, the details thereof shall be recorded in the bank paper.
(2) After the details as per sub-section (1) are recorded, if the witness is asked whether there is anything left to express on any matter, he shall be asked to express such a thing and such matter shall be recorded in the ledger and in such ledger paper the fact that the witness has been examined in the name of himself and the parties present in the case or the heirs. The judge has to certify all such persons as mentioned.
(3) If any or all of the witnesses, parties to the case or the heirs refuse to print on the bank paper prepared according to sub-section (2), the judge examining the witness shall mention the same behavior and keep it in the record of the related case.
(4) When making a witness statement, it should be made in the format as per Schedule-17.
