Section 4
Bonded labor should not be imposed
(1) No worker shall be directly or indirectly subjected to bonded labour.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the following work or service performed by a worker shall not be considered as bonded labour:-
(a) Work or service to be performed under the duty of a citizen when required by the nation,
(b) Work or service to be served as punishment according to the decision or order of the court,
(c) Work or service to be done as a member of such community for the benefit of the community. Explanation: For the purpose of this section, "bonded labour" means the act of forcing a worker to do any work or service against his will by showing fear of some kind of financial, physical or mental action if he does not do any work or service.
