In addition to the work mentioned in the Act, the work of the department shall be as follows:-
(a) Printing and supplying passports, travel permits, blank booklets of Siemens document books (Siemens Passport), personalization, quality testing, data management, safe storage, etc.,
(b) Based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Article 9303 and its related schedule, the security features or signs placed in Nepali passports and travel permits (security features) _ should be reviewed from time to time and approved by the Government of Nepal,
(c) Collecting, processing, quality testing and secure storage of personal information including biometrics required for the purpose of issuing passports,
(d) Keeping the records related to passports and travel permits issued by the department,
(e) - To update the details of lost passports through the Interpol branch of Nepal Police and enter them in the database of Interpol,
(f) To perform other tasks prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
