Section 6
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Board
In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) To obtain, construct, expand, improve and restore the service system,
(b) To create and implement a policy regarding the use of the service,
(c) Preventing misuse of drinking water and not allowing drinking water to be polluted,
(d) Conducting study, research and survey regarding the source, distribution and sanitation of drinking water (e) To prepare and implement short-term and long-term plans related to the service system (f) Determine the investment required for the operation of the service, prepare a plan for it and make arrangements for financial resources,
(G) To identify and obtain the source of funds required for the expansion and development of the service (h) Determining the service fee rate according to the prevailing law,
(i) Making necessary arrangements to provide quality and efficient service,
(j) Granting a license to the service provider to provide the service or making a contract with the service provider to provide the service,
(k) charging the prescribed fee for the service provided to the consumer,
(l) If a consumer is harassed by the service provider while providing the service, he/she will give appropriate treatment after a hearing. (D) To do other work as specified which is necessary for the operation of the service.
