(1) There shall be a National Examination Board to conduct, coordinate and manage the Secondary Education Examination.
(2) The formation of the Board shall be as follows:-
( a) A person appointed by the Government of Nepal from among those who have at least a master's degree from a recognized university and have twelve years of experience in education and examination - President
(b) Secretary of the Ministry - Vice President
(c) of the Ministry Joint Secretary (Viewing School Education) – Member
(d) Director General, Education Department – Member
(e) Executive Director, Curriculum Development Center – Member
( f) Member-Secretary, Technical Education and Vocational Training Council – Member
(g) Controller of Examinations, Tribhuvan University – Member
(h) At least ten in the field of teaching, education administration and examination Three members, including at least two women, nominated by the board from among the people who have gained experience and expertise. ) Gazetted first class or senior employees of the Nepal Education Service appointed by the Ministry-Member-Secretary
(3) To recommend to the Government of Nepal for the appointment of the Chairman of the Board, under the Chairmanship of the Public Service Commission, the Ministry nominates at least one woman from among the renowned educationists. A recommendation committee consisting of two members will be formed and the person recommended by the committee will be appointed by the government of Nepal as the chairman of the board. (4) The term of office of the chairman and nominated members of the board will be four years. 5) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (4), if the chairman or nominated member of the board has not fulfilled his official responsibilities honestly, the Government of Nepal in the case of the chairman and the ministry in the case of the member may remove him from office at any time on the recommendation of the committee as specified.
However, he shall not be deprived of a reasonable opportunity to present his explanation before being removed from the position.
