Section 9
Vote signals not to be published

(1) After marking a vote on a ballot paper, no one shall show or display such ballot paper to anyone, shall not indicate his vote outside of the secret ballot marking place without indicating his vote, or shall not make public the act of indicating his vote in any way.
(2) The polling officer may impose a fine of up to fifteen thousand rupees on a person who acts contrary to sub-section (1).
(3) If someone fails to drop the ballot in the ballot box by doing the opposite of sub-section (1), the polling officer shall keep such ballot in a separate envelope, mention the same procedure in that envelope, seal it and keep it as a bond, and such ballot shall not be counted.
