(1) No one shall take away, loot, damage or in any way damage the ballot box or ballot paper or any other document related to the election by force or without the permission of the election officer or take it away from the counting place without the permission of the election officer.
(2) A person who contravenes sub-section (1) shall be punished with a fine which may extend to one lakh rupees or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with both.
