Section 51
<br> in case of invalidation of ballot papers
The ballot will be invalid in the following cases:-
(a) Without the signature of the polling officer concerned,
(b) vote is indicated by putting a finger print or by putting a mark or seal other than the mark or seal as per sub-section (3) of section 34,
(c) Defaced or torn so as not to understand the voting symbol,
(d) Votes are marked elsewhere without being marked in the room where the election symbol of the candidate is,
(e) Votes indicated only on election symbols where there is no candidate,
(f) separate votes are marked in a room with election marks for more than the number of candidates to be elected,
(g) In a room with more than one candidate's election mark, the vote is marked in such a way that the mark of the vote is marked,
(h) returned to the polling officer without indicating the vote,
(h) no vote being indicated on the election symbol of any candidate,
(j) Voted by ballots other than those prescribed by the Commission,
(k) placed outside the ballot box,
(l) forged ballot papers, or
(d) Ballots determined to be void by the commission.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), in the event that more than one candidate is elected from the same ballot, only the votes for the position to be invalidated shall be counted and the other ballots shall be counted.
