Rule 166
Motion that the Report of the Committee on Impeachment Recommendations be approved
(1) After the discussion on the report in accordance with sub-rule (2) of rule 165 or after the report of the impeachment recommendation committee is received again in the meeting in accordance with sub-rule (4) of the same rule, the chairman of the committee or in his absence any other member of the committee designated by the speaker should approve the recommendation mentioned in the report. Can submit a proposal.
(2) After submission of the proposal according to sub-rule (1), any member may submit amendments to the report if he wishes.
(3) After a brief discussion on the proposal submitted in accordance with sub-rule (1) or the amendment submitted in accordance with sub-rule (2), the Speaker shall submit all the amendments to the decision-making meeting and then the recommendations mentioned in the report shall be presented to the decision-making meeting.
(4) The decision of the Assembly on the motion of impeachment shall be made by division I with the signatures of the members.
(5) The Secretary General or in his absence, the Secretary shall give the information of the decision under sub-rule (4) to the Government of Nepal.
(6) If the report presented by the impeachment recommendation committee is passed by a two-thirds majority of the total number of members of the House of Representatives with the opinion that the proposal submitted against an official in accordance with this paragraph is verified and the impeachment is proved, the relevant official shall be relieved of office.
(7) If an official who has been dismissed after the resolution of impeachment has been passed, if he has committed any offense while in office, there will be no bar to take action in accordance with the federal law.
(8) A person who has been relieved of office after the motion of impeachment has been passed in accordance with this paragraph shall not be able to take any benefits from such office and may not be appointed or nominated to any public office in the future.
