Section 8A
Functions, Duties and Powers of the National Coordinating Committee
In addition to the functions, duties and powers written elsewhere in this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the National Coordinating Committee shall be as follows:- (a) To be adopted in relation to money laundering and prevention of offenses related to financial investment in terrorist activities. Formulate a policy and submit it to the Government of Nepal, (A1) Facilitate and coordinate work related to national and regional risk assessment related to money laundering and financial investment in terrorist activities, and make or arrange necessary policy and other appropriate arrangements for risk management and mitigation, (B) (c) Implementation of the standards or policies prepared by international organizations of which Nepal is a member in relation to the prevention of money laundering and financial investment offenses in terrorist activities. To recommend to the Government of Nepal, (d) To give instructions to the relevant agencies regarding the prevention of crimes related to money laundering and financial investment in terrorist activities and to monitor whether the actions have been carried out in accordance with those instructions, (e) Related agencies, regulatory agencies and financial information units shall carry out their own Discussing and coordinating the annual report related to the actions taken, (f) Doing or causing other actions specified by the Government of Nepal in related matters related to money laundering and financial investment in terrorist activities.
