(1) If the age, name, surname or other details of a child born after the implementation of this Act need to be corrected once registered in accordance with this Act and a certificate of registration has been issued, the concerned person may submit an application in the prescribed format to the office of the local registrar within one year of obtaining such certificate.
(2) Upon receipt of the application given under sub-section (1), the local registrar may investigate and correct the age, name, surname or other details in the registration book and certificate of registration if deemed appropriate.
(3) The local registrar should also provide the department with the corrected information as per sub-section (2). Based on the details obtained in this way, the department should correct the details in the details of such person in the identity number of the person concerned.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written in the prevailing law, the age of a person in the registration book and in the certificate of registration issued under this Act shall not be corrected more than once.
