Section 39
Voting can be postponed in special circumstances
: (1) The polling officer appointed at the polling station is convinced that an abnormal situation has arisen in the polling station or that the electronic equipment cannot be operated for any reason or that the polling cannot be done due to nuisance or natural calamity or any reason beyond his control. If so, he can immediately suspend the voting work of that polling station.
(2) If the polling officer postpones the polling according to sub-section (1), the notice thereof shall be published in the same place and the information thereof shall be given to the election officer immediately.
(3) According to sub-section (1), the Election Officer shall immediately inform the Commission about the postponement of voting.
(4) After receiving the information as per sub-section (3), unless otherwise instructed by the Commission, the election officer shall publish a notice specifying the date and time of re-voting and conduct re-voting.
(2) If the polling officer postpones the polling according to sub-section (1), the notice thereof shall be published in the same place and the information thereof shall be given to the election officer immediately.
(3) According to sub-section (1), the Election Officer shall immediately inform the Commission about the postponement of voting.
(4) After receiving the information as per sub-section (3), unless otherwise instructed by the Commission, the election officer shall publish a notice specifying the date and time of re-voting and conduct re-voting.
