(1) If any infectious disease occurs or spreads or is likely to spread in Nepal or any part thereof, the Government of Nepal may take necessary action to eradicate or prevent the disease and may affect the general public or any group of persons. (2) The Government of Nepal may issue the necessary orders for the eradication of any infectious disease that has arisen or spread or is likely to spread in humans or to arrange the necessary arrangements for the prevention of such disease. (3) Without prejudice to the generality of sub-section (1) or (2), the Government of Nepal may interrogate passengers traveling on foot or by any means of transport, and such animals, birds or passengers If there is a suspicion that an infectious disease has been contracted, the staff assigned to investigate may issue necessary orders to isolate such passengers in hospitals and other places or to inspect and control them in any way, including during transportation.
