(1) If any infectious disease occurs or spreads or is likely to spread throughout the province or any part thereof, the provincial government may take necessary action to eradicate or prevent the disease and apply to the general public or groups of persons.

(2) The provincial government may delegate the necessary authority to any official to eliminate any infectious disease that has arisen or spread or is likely to spread in the province or to arrange necessary arrangements for the prevention of that disease. .

(3) Without prejudice to the generality of sub-section (1) or (2), the provincial government may examine passengers traveling on foot or by any means of transport and if such passengers are suspected to be suffering from any infectious disease. The officer on duty may issue necessary orders to keep such passengers isolated in hospitals and other places or to inspect and control them in any way, including during transportation or travel.

(4) Notwithstanding anything else written in this section, section In the case that the Government of Nepal has already issued an order in accordance with 2, the Provincial Government is not required to issue an order in accordance with this section and such order will be implemented by the Provincial Government as well.
