Section 19
Registering Personal Events

(1) Upon receipt of the notice as per section 18, the local registrar or authorized employee shall register such incident in the relevant register as follows:-
(a) If the form filled in by the person coming to give notice is correct, check if it is not correct, and
(b) If the person coming to give information does not know how to read, he should fill the form himself or make him fill it, read it and have his lapcha printed correctly. (2) When registering the notice of divorce, the decision made by the court in that regard should also be registered.
(3) If a personal incident is registered after the deadline specified in sub-section (1) or (2) of section 18 has passed, such personal incident shall be registered by charging the prescribed delay fee.
(4) After registering an individual incident according to this section, the local registrar or delegation shall send the details thereof to the department.
(5) Based on the details received as per sub-section (4), the department shall update the details in the personal records of the concerned persons.
(6) If there is a need to register any personal incident of a foreigner in Nepal, he should inform the local registrar of his place of residence along with the prescribed evidence.
(7) In the case of foreign nationals who have a diplomatic mission in Nepal, the recommendation of the relevant diplomatic mission should also be submitted while giving notice in accordance with sub-section (6).
(8) After receiving the information according to sub-section (6), the local registrar shall carry out the necessary investigation and register the personal case of such a foreigner.
(9) Other arrangements related to reporting personal incidents of foreigners in Nepal and registering personal incidents shall be as prescribed.
