Section 18
Notification of Personal Events
(1) In order to register a personal event in the following cases, the following persons shall report to the office of the local registrar within thirty-five days of the occurrence of such event in the prescribed form:- (a) Notification of birth by the father or mother and in their absence by the person who has reached the age of eighteen years of the family, (b) Death Notice by the father, mother, husband, wife, son or daughter and in their absence by any person of the family who has reached the age of eighteen years, (c) Notice of marriage by both husband and wife, (d) Notice of divorce by either of the divorced persons, (e) Migration Information Family members who have reached the age of eighteen years.
(2) If the personal incident occurred outside of Nepal, the person who has the duty to give notice according to sub-section (1) shall give notice to the relevant delegation within thirty-five days or to the office of the local registrar within thirty-five days after coming to Nepal.
(3) According to sub-section (1), a person who has the duty to give notice of a personal incident may give an authorized representative to any person to register such notice.
(4) In case there is no person who has the duty to give notice of the personal incident according to sub-section (1), the prescribed person shall give such notice.
(5) In accordance with this section, when giving notice of personal incident, arrangements can be made to give it by electronic means as specified.
