Section 68
Oath
: (1) Before participating in the meeting of the National Assembly or any of its committees, a member shall take an oath before the person presiding over the National Assembly in the format as per Schedule-2. However, the member according to clause (5) of Article 92 of the Constitution must take an oath before the President.
(2) If a member wishes to take oath in his native language spoken in Nepal, such member shall translate the oath as per sub-section (1) into his native language and provide a copy of the translation to the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament three days before participating in the first meeting of the National Assembly or any of its committees.< br> (3) After taking the oath according to this section, the member shall sign the copy of the oath taken and submit it to the person presiding over the National Assembly.
(4) If a member takes an oath in his native language spoken in Nepal, he shall sign copies of the oath in Nepali language and other Nepali native languages before the person presiding over the National Assembly.
(5) The Federal Parliament Secretariat shall keep the records of the oath taken by the members in accordance with this section.
