(1) The medium of education in schools shall be Nepali language, English language or both languages.

(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), in the following cases the medium of education in schools shall be as follows It can be as follows:-

(a) Primary education can be given in mother tongue,

(b) Non-Nepali citizens can study any other language subject instead of compulsory Nepali subject while studying in Nepali school.

(c) When studying a language subject, the medium of education may be the same language,

(d) When studying a compulsory English subject, it should be conducted in English.
