Section 10
Right of protection

(1) Persons with disabilities shall have the right to receive protection against all kinds of inhuman or degrading treatment, physical or mental violence, gender violence, domestic violence, sexual abuse and exploitation by family, guardians or other persons.
(2) Persons with disabilities shall have the right to priority protection, rescue and protection in the event of armed conflict, crisis or disaster.
(3) The Government of Nepal shall make the following arrangements to protect persons with disabilities from all forms of exploitation, violence and abuse, including gender violence:-
(a) Obtaining information and keeping records of incidents of exploitation, violence and abusive, gender and sexual violence against persons with disabilities,
(b) To take effective legal action against exploitation, violence and incidents as per Clause (a) in accordance with this Act and prevailing laws,
(c) To protect, rescue, protect and rehabilitate victims of such incidents immediately and effectively,
(d) To make suitable arrangements to prevent such incidents,
(e) Conduct awareness and counseling programs at the community level against such incidents.
