Section 23
Protected Forest
(1) If the Government of Nepal deems any part of the national forest to be of special environmental, scientific or cultural importance or any other special importance, it may declare such part of the national forest as a protected forest.
(2) Pursuant to sub-section (1), after the Government of Nepal declares any part of the National Forest as a protected forest, the notification thereof shall be published in the Nepal Gazette.
