Rule 4
Public Prosecutor's Office and Territorial Jurisdiction
(1) The office of the Attorney General will be in Kathmandu.
(1a) In order to conduct the work of the Attorney General's Office and the subordinate Public Prosecutor's Office in an orderly manner, the Attorney General's Office shall have the number of departments determined by the Attorney General. But the number of such departments will not be less than four.
(1b) To act as the head of the department, there is one head of the department in each department as determined by the Attorney General.
(1c) Except as otherwise stated in this regulation, the division of duties of the head of the department shall be as prescribed by the Attorney General.
(1d) When dividing the work according to sub-rule (1c), the Attorney General must also specify which public prosecutor's office will be under each department.
(1e) There will be various divisions and branches under the department.
(2) There shall be an Appellate Public Prosecutor's Office at the seat of every Appellate Court (3) The District Public Prosecutor's Offices established in the districts within the territorial jurisdiction of the Appellate Court shall remain within the territorial jurisdiction of the Appellate Public Prosecutor's Office established in accordance with sub-rule (2).
(4) There shall be a district public prosecutor's office at the location of each district court (5) There will be required number of employees in the public prosecutor's office.
