Section 9
Power to hear appeals to the Supreme Court

(1) The Supreme Court shall have jurisdiction to hear appeals in the following cases:
(a) Cases initiated and set aside by the High Court in accordance with sub-section (2) of section 8,
(b) a case decided by the High Court to be punishable with imprisonment for ten years or more,
(c) in a case punishable by imprisonment for more than three years or a fine of more than five lakh rupees or a penalty of more than twenty five lakh rupees, which has been partially or fully set aside by the High Court on appeal from the decision of the trial court, agency or officer, and
(d) Other cases subject to appeal to the Supreme Court in accordance with federal law.
(2) The Supreme Court shall have the right to hear the appeal even in cases where the applicant has appeared before the Supreme Court.
