(1) If the owner of a registered vehicle dies and the owner of such vehicle according to the prevailing law wishes to transfer the said vehicle in his own name, the documents mentioned in sub-section (2) of section 37 of the Act and the fee as per Schedule-3 should be submitted to the office where such vehicle is registered. Application should be made in the format as per 13.
(2) If an application is received in accordance with sub-rule (1), the office shall carry out the necessary investigation regarding such application and if deemed appropriate to change the name of the vehicle according to the request of the applicant, the name shall be changed subject to the Act and other provisions mentioned in this regulation.
