Rule 4
Applying for an ordinary passport

(1) Nepalese citizens who want to get ordinary passport must submit two copies of the application form in the format as per Schedule-2 to the body as per Schedule-1.
(2) When making an application according to sub-rule (1), the following documents should be attached:-
(a) Original and copy of certificate of citizenship or: Original and copy of national identity card if national identity card is taken,
(b) In case of a minor, a copy of the minor's identity card,
(c) A letter certifying the authority of the agency that issues the certificate of citizenship and the minor's identity card, but after the national identity card is implemented and the passport system is integrated into its system, such a letter of authority is not required.
(d) Copy of such passport and its photograph page, if previously obtained passport,
(e) Copy of marriage registration certificate or migration certificate in case of applicant who comes with recommendation for passport from district administration office other than district where citizenship certificate is obtained,
(f) If a married woman needs to get a passport including her husband's surname, marriage registration certificate and husband's citizenship certificate and a copy thereof, (g) four copies of the photograph as per Schedule-3, and (h) as per Schedule 4. Bank Voucher or Cash on Receipt: Proof of Receipt.
(3) If the name, surname or date of birth mentioned in someone's citizenship certificate is different from the name, surname or date of birth mentioned in the general spelling or numbers in the educational qualification, a passport should be obtained according to the certificate of educational qualification or a certificate of educational qualification of the same or higher level. And a copy of it should also be submitted with the application.
(4) of any: If the date of birth mentioned in the certificate of citizenship and the name, surname and date of birth as perpetuated in the British or Indian soldier or Singapore police pension certificate (discharge certificate) differ and a passport is required to be obtained in accordance with the pension certificate (discharge certificate), a British or Indian soldier - Or the Singapore Police pension certificate (discharge certificate) and a letter from the relevant district administration office certifying that the person with the same name, surname and date of birth must also be submitted with the application.
