If the Government of Nepal deems it necessary to acquire any land for the purpose of any public work, the Government of Nepal may acquire any amount of land in any place by giving compensation in accordance with this Act.

“3a. Land should be provided for the province or local level: If land is required for a project conducted by the province or local level, any land shall be provided by the concerned province or local level to bear the compensation and all other expenses as per this Act. If a request is made to the Government of Nepal for acquisition, the Government of Nepal can decide to acquire such land to the provincial or local level.
