Rule 8
Use of CCTV cameras
: (1) According to rules 6 and 7, the agency, organization or person installing CCTV cameras shall keep the footage taken from such CCTV camera confidentially and securely and such footage shall not be made public or used for commercial purposes.
(2) According to rule 6, the footage taken from the CCTV camera connected according to rule 6 should be secured according to the storage capacity of such CCTV camera.
(3) If the CCTV camera installed in accordance with rule 6 needs to be repaired, removed or changed, the nearest police office or district administration office should be notified. (4) If the CCTV camera installed in accordance with Rule 6 needs to be repaired, removed or changed, and if the footage taken from such CCTV camera can be deleted, such footage shall be removed and preserved for at least thirty days.
(95) The scenes taken from the CCTV cameras connected in accordance with rule 6 may be collected, viewed or used by the relevant investigating officer, court or case officer for the purpose of investigation or hearing of the case under prevailing Nepal law.
(6) The scenes taken from the CCTV cameras connected in accordance with Rule 7 may be collected, viewed or used by the concerned investigation officer, court or case officer after completing the procedure according to the prevailing law for the purpose of investigation or hearing of the case under prevailing Nepal law.
(2) According to rule 6, the footage taken from the CCTV camera connected according to rule 6 should be secured according to the storage capacity of such CCTV camera.
(3) If the CCTV camera installed in accordance with rule 6 needs to be repaired, removed or changed, the nearest police office or district administration office should be notified. (4) If the CCTV camera installed in accordance with Rule 6 needs to be repaired, removed or changed, and if the footage taken from such CCTV camera can be deleted, such footage shall be removed and preserved for at least thirty days.
(95) The scenes taken from the CCTV cameras connected in accordance with rule 6 may be collected, viewed or used by the relevant investigating officer, court or case officer for the purpose of investigation or hearing of the case under prevailing Nepal law.
(6) The scenes taken from the CCTV cameras connected in accordance with Rule 7 may be collected, viewed or used by the concerned investigation officer, court or case officer after completing the procedure according to the prevailing law for the purpose of investigation or hearing of the case under prevailing Nepal law.
