Section 13
Safe Abortion Services Advisory Committee
.
(1) A safe abortion service consultation committee has been formed with the following chairman and members to provide necessary consultation to the government of Nepal on safe abortion services:-
(a) Director General, Department of Health Services – Chairman
(b) Representative, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare – Member
(c) Representative, Nepal Medical Council – Member
(d) Representative, Nepal Nursing Council – Member (e) Representative, Nepal Health Practitioners Council – Member
(f) Senior Surgeon nominated by Government of Nepal – Member
(g) Director, Shri 5 Indrarajya Lakshmi Charitable Maternity Home – Member
(h) Representative, National Commission for Women – Member
(i) Chairman, Private Nursing Home Association – Member
(j) President, Gynecology and Obstetricians Association - Member
(k) Representatives of organizations nominated by the Government of Nepal among non-governmental organizations working in the field of women and safe abortion services - members
(l) Law Officer, Ministry of Health – Member
(d) Director, Family Health Division, Department of Health Services – Member – Secretary
(2) The committee may invite an expert as an invited member to the meeting as per the need.
(3) The procedure for the meeting of the committee shall be as determined by the committee itself.
(4) The secretariat of the committee will be done by the family health division of the department (5) The work, duties and rights of the committee shall be as follows:-
(a) To provide necessary advice, suggestions and recommendations to the Government of Nepal for the preparation of policies, plans and programs related to safe abortion services,
(B) To perform the role of facilitator by maintaining coordination between the government, private sector and the private sector in order to operate safe abortion services in a simple and easy manner,
(c) To perform other tasks as prescribed by the Government of Nepal.
(6) The committee may form the required number of sub-committees including experts to carry out its duties. The work, duties, rights and procedures of such sub-committee shall be as determined by the committee.

(c) Representative, Nepal Medical Council – Member
(d) Representative, Nepal Nursing Council – Member (e) Representative, Nepal Health Practitioners Council – Member
