(1) To be appointed to the post of military technical service filled through open competition, the following qualifications should be met:-
(a) Nepali citizens,
(b) Soldiers who have completed eighteen years of age and not exceeded thirty-nine years in case of men and thirty years in case of women and have completed eighteen years of age and not exceeded twenty-five years for the post of Subedar, Jamdar and Amaldar by the last date of registration of applications for the post of sub-senior, but who have attained the qualification of serving in the Nepali Army. Until the age of thirty-five years, he can apply for a maximum of three times.
(c) Having the minimum educational qualification as per rule 7 for the post to be appointed,
(d) not less than five feet three inches in the case of males and not less than five feet in the case of females,
(e) In the case of men, chest measuring thirty-two inches when not inflated and thirty-four inches when inflated,
(f) weighing not less than fifty kilograms (one hundred and ten pounds) in the case of males and not less than forty kilograms (eighty eight pounds) in the case of females,
(g. Health classification according to MEDDICISOS-GI and Body-Mass Index (BMI) criteria,
(h) Eyesight not more than minus two or plus two, but not more than minus two point five or plus two point five in case of incumbent candidate. (j) not having been convicted by a court of law on criminal charges which appear to be morally turpitude,
(h) Not being a member of any political party for the time being,
(k) is not involved in or involved in any criminal activity,
(Rs) not being or not being a member of any association having a subversive purpose,
(D) Unpunished for espionage against Nepal,
(l) Impunity for violations of human rights and humanitarian law,
(n) _Not dismissed from service so as to disqualify him for future Government service,
(s) Permanent residence permit of a foreign country not obtained.
(2) The following qualifications should be fulfilled for the post to be promoted for selection through the internal competition of the Military Technical Service:-
(a) Possessing the minimum educational qualification as per rule 7,
(b) Eligible for a Body Mass Index (BMI) and health classification MDD of two or less,
(c) Passed Physical Fitness Test (BFT),
(d) Recommended by the unit president.
