Rule 119
(1)
The Divisional Forest Officer shall remove the encroachment in 8 forest areas within his jurisdiction.
(2) In order to facilitate and cooperate with the Divisional Forest Officer in forest encroachment control, one of the following in each district. Forest encroachment control committee will be:-
(a) Chief District Officer - Coordinator (b) District Coordinating Officer - Member (c) Chief, District Police Office - Member (d) Chief, District Armed - Member Police Force, Nepal (n) Chief, Surveyors Office - Member ( f) The district-based representative of the political party represented in the provincial assembly from the respective district (g) The representative appointed by the president or chief of the relevant local level (h) The president of the relevant forest user-member group (j) The divisional forest officer logistics member-secretary
(3) If there is more than one divisional forest office in a district, the divisional forest officer of the divisional forest office at the district headquarters shall be the member-secretary of the committee as per sub-rule (2) and the other divisional forest officer shall be the member.
(4) The Forest Encroachment Control Committee as per sub-rule (2) shall provide necessary assistance to the Divisional Forest Officer in removing forest encroachment and also arrange necessary security during the removal of encroachment.
(5) The Divisional Forest Officer shall submit the statistics including the state of forest encroachment within his jurisdiction and the progress of encroachment control to the Provincial Ministries, Departments and the Forest Encroachment Control Committee as per sub-rule (2).
(6) In forest areas where encroachment has been removed, the Divisional Forest Officer shall plant trees as soon as possible and protect and manage the forest.
