Rule 15
_ Service Passport
(1) Private assistants and non-ranking employees who accompany ambassadors, permanent representatives, special representatives, consuls general or gazetted level employees to work in Nepali missions abroad shall, upon the recommendation of the Ministry, bring back such personal assistants and non-ranking employees with them after the end of their tenure. An application should be made to the department for a service passport in the format as per schedule-2 along with the letter of commitment.
(2) The department may issue a service passport after examining the application received as per sub-rule (1).
(3) The service passport issued according to sub-rule (2) shall be submitted to the department within fifteen days of returning to Nepal by the officer or employee who is to be taken with him/her.
(4) According to sub-rule (3), the passport received by the department shall be recorded and canceled by the department.
(5) As a local employee. The department can issue service passports to Nepali citizens working in the delegation if they receive a written letter from the ministry with the recommendation of the delegation.
(6) If for any reason a person who has received a service passport as per sub-rule (5) separates from the service of the commission, the service passport issued in his name shall be withdrawn and canceled by the relevant commission and the information thereof shall be given to the department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the certified and co-certified country of the commission and the foreign mission. .
(7) After receiving the information that the service passport has been canceled according to sub-rule (6), the department shall cancel the said passport and keep a record of it.
