Section 7
Having privacy of residence
(1) Every person shall have the right to the privacy of his dwelling.
(2) No person shall be allowed to enter the residence of any person, or cause to be searched, or to be searched, except in accordance with the authority of an officer or his order.
(3) When entering in accordance with sub-section (2), the person concerned or his family member shall not be entered or caused to be searched in such a way as to violate the privacy of his or her family's private life.
(4) If a person is arrested outside his residence by an officer authorized by law or by order of such officer, his residence shall not be searched or caused to be searched only because he was arrested.
(5) If a person is arrested in accordance with sub-section (4), if there is a reasonable reason to search his residence, his residence may be searched by taking a separate order from the authorized officer according to the law for that purpose.
(6) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this section, the dwelling of any person may be entered for the purpose of disaster management or emergency rescue.
(7) Maintaining the privacy of the residence and other arrangements related to search or investigation shall be in accordance with the prevailing law.
