Section 16
Family pension or gratuity

(1) If the Secretary General or the Secretary wishes any of his family members, such person and in the event of the death of the person who wishes so or if no one wishes, the next of kin of his family members shall be given pension as per Section 15 on the following basis:-
(a) In the event of the death of the Secretary-General or the Secretary while holding office, for a period of seven years from the date of death,
(b) In case of death within seven years of starting to receive pension according to section 15, until the remaining period of seven years.
(2) If the general secretary or secretary dies while holding the post and if he does not get pension according to section 15 but only gratuity, then the gratuity amount will be received by the person receiving pension according to sub-section (1) from among his family members.
(3) After the period of receiving family pension as per sub-section (1) has been paid, the widowed wife or widower of the deceased general secretary or secretary shall be entitled to receive half of such pension for life. However, if such a person is receiving pension due to the government service rendered by him, he will not get pension according to this sub-section.
(4) When the salary of the incumbent General Secretary or Secretary is increased, two-thirds of the amount of the increase in the forfeited salary shall be added to the forfeited family pension of the person receiving family pension as per sub-sections (1) and (3).
