(1) The Director General may employ employees of the department to work overtime as needed.
(2) According to sub-rule (1), when any gazetted employee is assigned to work overtime, overtime allowance will be given subject to the annual allocation only if he works at least two hours overtime. When the allowance is given, the employee will get additional time allowance for the extra hours worked in the calculation of the hours of salary received in a day. But if he wants to take leave instead of working extra time, he can take such leave.
(3) In accordance with sub-rule (1), when any gazetted employee is employed overtime, if he works at least two hours overtime, he shall be given lunch allowance as per prevailing law.
