Section 67
Method of giving notice of dishonor
The notice of dishonor which is to be given to a person, can be given orally or in writing by him or his authorized agent or in case of his death to his rightful person. When giving notice in writing, it can be given in any format by registered post. In addition to the fact that the negotiable instrument has been dishonored, such notice should also be given to the place of business or residence within a reasonable time, with a clear disclosure of the manner in which the informed person will be liable. If the notice duly sent by post does not reach the concerned person for any reason, it shall not be considered that the notice has not been sent.
