(1) A person or an organized organization wishing to survey, produce, transmit or distribute electricity shall submit an application for a permit to the designated authority with the relevant economic, technical and environmental study report and the specified details. However, it is not necessary to attach such a study report when applying for an electricity survey permit.
(2) The authority specified in the application under sub-section (1) shall conduct the necessary investigation and issue the permit to the applicant in the prescribed format within thirty days in the case of electricity survey permit and within one hundred and twenty days in the case of electricity production, transmission or distribution permit.
(3) Any person or organized organization producing, transmitting or distributing electricity before the commencement of this Act shall submit an application for a permit to the designated authority within one year from the date of commencement of this Act with the specified details, except for those in accordance with the restrictive clauses of Section 3. br> (4) The authority specified in the application filed under sub-section (3) shall issue a permit in the prescribed format within sixty days from the date of filing the application after conducting the necessary investigation.
(5) If the license holder has to sell his license or transfer it to someone in any other way, he must obtain approval from the designated authority.
