(1) Workers in the informal sector and self-employed persons may participate in the social security scheme by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette and depositing the prescribed contribution into the fund on the recommendation of the committee.
(2) In order to encourage informal sector workers and self-employed persons to join the social security scheme, the Government of Nepal shall deposit the specified amount into the fund based on the contributions made by such persons to the social security scheme.
(3) The fund may cooperate with cooperative organizations or associations, community or other professional associations for the purpose of involving informal sector workers and self-employed persons in the social security scheme.
(4) The fund may operate social security schemes as prescribed for the social security of informal sector workers and self-employed persons.
