Section 4
Emergency treatment
: (1) Every health institution shall provide emergency health services as prescribed.
(2) It shall be the duty of every health institution and health worker to provide health services as per sub-section (1).
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (2), if emergency health services are not available in a health institution, such health institution shall immediately provide the treatment available from that institution and send it to another health institution for further treatment.
(4) If the related person has health insurance, the expenses incurred during the treatment according to this section, and if there is no health insurance or if the amount of the health insurance is insufficient, the related person, his or her spouse, family member, guardian or the person who has been taken under guardianship shall bear the expenses. But the health services under basic health services should be provided free of charge by health institutions.
(5) When providing emergency treatment services in accordance with this section, the concerned service recipient shall be made to follow the procedure to be completed when receiving such service only after starting the treatment.
(6) Other arrangements related to emergency treatment services shall be as prescribed.
