Rule 61
Treatment at own expense
If a detainee or prisoner wants to undergo treatment at his own expense, he or his close relative or friend must submit a written application to the Jailor. In such an application, he should clearly mention the reason why he wants to be treated by other doctors instead of official doctors. The name, surname, nationality and qualifications of the treating physician should also be mentioned in the application. If the attending physician or the reason is not reasonable, the jailer should report such request to the local chief district officer.
